About

The Beaded Ewe is a Las Vegas based shop run by mother/daughter team of Eileen and Deb Dorchak. Eileen specializes in contemporary jewelry, and Deb does everything else (including, but not limited to, contemporary jewelry and malas, wire wrapping, beading, non-traditional malas, wet/nuno and needle felting, and Kumihimo).

Both make pieces for the sheer joy of creating.

Every item on our site and in our shop is One of a Kind (OOAK). Once it’s gone, there won’t be another exactly like it, though if you do see something you must have and want it re-created, altered (changing out stones, size, etc.), or a totally new piece designed just for you, contact us and we’ll talk!

I would like to give a great big shout-out to Cabs by Stoned Wraps who sent me this gorgeous mystery lot of cabs. Initially, I spoke with Holly, who guided me through their order process. During this time I told her about the kinds of stones I liked, and how eventually, I'd be looking for a large larimar.

She sent the order out the other morning. Received today. Very quick turn-around.

This afternoon was like Christmas in June. Pictured are the stones she sent:
1. Larimar
2. Andamoka Opal
3. Tiger Eye (red)
4. Labradorite
5. Rose Quartz
6. Picture Jasper
7. Amethyst
8. Moss Agate
9. Amazonite
10. Sunstone
11. Zebra Jasper

Now, let me tell you, the price of the opal and larimar alone on some Etsy sites go for as much as either of these stones. Overall, the Mystery Lot was $75. Can't beat that with a stick.

But, what tickles me the most is the thoughtfulness put into this lot. One, Holly went back and replaced a stone with the larimar. Two, the labradorite, opal, and moss agate were all on my recent "wish lists" on Etsy. It was like she read my mind.

If you know me, which many of you do, I work intuitively. I listen very closely to what my clients and customers have to say. I know what they like and they're always surprised when they get exactly what they asked for, or better. Having someone do this for me was priceless.

Karma in action. Gotta love it.

So, before I turn this into my next novel, if you're a crafter who works with stones, go follow their page. If you're a customer of The Beaded Ewe and you see a stone on there you like, or are looking for something in particular, get it, have it shipped to me and I can make a custom piece for you (just make sure you we work it out ahead of time, otherwise I'll think y'all are just being nice and sending me gifts for no reason! Which is okay too.)

Stay tuned for what these beauties turn into. And if there's one here that speaks to you, message me or drop a comment.
